King’s College London Chapel Wedding Day
London
After photographing Lucy & Matt Engagement Session, I had the pleasure to photograph their beautiful wedding last month. It started with the bridal preparation at the Strand Palace Hotel, London.

The beautiful religious ceremony took place at the stunning King’s College Chapel in London. I was pleasantly surprised with the light level. It was not as dark as I was expecting it to be.

After the ceremony and the family formal photos session, the plan was to get some images of the couple walking towards the reception held at the IET Savoy Place. As we walked by the Somerset House, I thought it would be a good idea to get some images in the Edmond J.Safra Fountain Court. We were stopped doing so by the security. As it’s a private property, I needed to have a permit, which was fair enough. So a few weeks later, I contacted them to inquire about getting this permit in case i might need it in the future. Let me paste their answer:
Thank you for your email enquiry.
Due to the incredibly high volume of requests we receive for photoshoot at Somerset House, we have set a fixed rate for wedding photography of £5,000 + VAT. Please note that these photos must be for personal use only, using hand-held cameras and with a crew of a maximum of 3 people.
As we do have an installation building in the Edmond J Safra Fountain Court over this time we wouldn’t have the availability for a shoot in this space over this time I am afraid.
With the above in mind please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any future enquiries.
I didn’t answer back! I don’t think they want me to shoot there! 🙂 Anyway, lesson learned is to always check whether or not your shooting location needs a permit.
We managed to get some very nice images in the IET Hall

The wedding breakfast was held at the Maxwell Library Room in the IET Savoy Place which offered an amazing roof terrace looking over the Thames.
